This is our class!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Grade 2!  My name is Neshmia. This is my 12th year of teaching and my second year at MLS. I love being here and enjoy being a part of this wonderful community. I look forward to partnering with you to make this year a memorable one.

A few quick notes I’d like to share about our upcoming year. 

First, our school follows a 6-day cycle, which means that your child’s specialist schedule will rotate according to the day (i.e. Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc.) not the day of the week. 

Secondly, our classroom blog is where you will find the happenings in your child’s classroom. Please visit it regularly for details, upcoming events, homework and daily announcements. 

This blog website will have lots of classroom information on it. There are tabs for calendar - schedule, curriculum, lunch menu, extended activity, conscious discipline etc. Please be sure to bookmark the blog so you can find it easily. Each week I will update the blog and let you know what is happening in our room. Be sure to check it out so you know what we are learning in 2A. My blog address is:

The school has provided us with some wonderful resources like razkids and IXL. I post what we will be learning in class, in the blog. Math homework will be from IXL. Reading at least one book from razkids and doing the quiz will also be part of the homework. There are many interesting websites that have been posted under the ‘Extend your learning’ tab. Please check this tab for any extra work that you would want your child to do.

Please send your child with a healthy snack and BIG bottle of water so that they have the energy they need to concentrate and make it to the end of the school day.

The school timings are from 7:20 am to 2:35 pm. Please be on time to drop and pick your child up.
