Feb 9th-13th, 2020

"Working hard is important, but there is something that matters even more: BELIEVING IN YOURSELF" - Harry Potter

In Writing Workshop, our writers choose topics that they feel strongly about, making cases by supporting their opinion with reasons and details.

In Reading Workshop, the coming two weeks are dedicated to guided reading sessions for our unit Bigger Books Mean Amping Up ReadingOur readers will practice the various strategies learned to become fluent readers.

In Math, students will start Unit 7 of math and practice pattern in counting, doubles and halves.

In STEM, our current unit is “Pebbles, Sand and Silt”, we will do activities about the story of sand.

In Social Studies, Grade 2 is learning about the expectations of how to act in one’s own culture and compare this with behavioral expectations of other cultures. Last week Grade 2A interviewed Ms. Saurabh and got to learn about her country ‘India’. This week the students will prepare a presentation on their acquired knowledge of India and present to Grade 2B.

Happy learning!
