March 1st-5th, 2020

" You should show some respect for what other people see and feel, even though it be the exact opposite of what you see and feel."
Luigi Pirandello

In Writing Workshop, grade 2 will start a new unit in which they will learn about the different styles of poetry:
Acrostic
Limerick
Haiku
They will investigate how poets see things with their hearts and minds, how they write about the world in fresh unusual ways, break up their lines, read the poem aloud after each try until the poem is written in a way that sounds just right.

In Reading Workshop, the week is dedicated to guided reading sessions in book clubs.

In Math grade 2 will explore more about fractions. They will be:
* Using manipulative to model different fractions ½ , ¼ , ⅛
*Dividing shapes into equal parts.
*Writing fractions to name equal parts.

In STEM, students will be assessed on the unit, ‘Pebbles, Sand and Silt’

Happy learning!
